Leading supplier of driveline and chassis technology celebrates 30 years in Australia in 2017

ZF Services Australia was established in 1987, beginning operations in Sydney’s west at Seven Hills, with just five employees in a single small office.
Three decades later, ZF Services Australia employs more than 60 people at its custom-built facility at Sydney’s Arndell Park, operates two distribution hubs in Sydney and Perth, and has state representation in Melbourne and Brisbane.
Having undergone such significant expansion over the past 30 years, today ZF distributes a range of transmission and driveline components, SACHS shock absorbers and clutches, and LEMFӦRDER steering and suspension parts.
And as a result of ZF’s global acquisition of TRW in 2015, TRW brakes and steering components are also now distributed by the company in Australia.
Originally ZF’s focus in Australia was on the local OE car, bus and truck manufacturing industry. Today, ZF Services Australia provides technology and components for local passenger cars, bus and coaches, truck and light commercial vehicle, construction and mining vehicles, agricultural equipment, military, marine and railway applications.
As a key Australian supplier, ZF says it maintains one of the most comprehensive original-equipment replacement part catalogues in the automotive aftermarket. Globally, ZF is a leader in driveline and chassis technology as well as active and passive safety technology, as one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world
The company has a global workforce of around 137,000 with approximately 230 locations in around 40 countries, achieving sales in 2016 of €35.2 billion. ZF annually invests about six percent of its sales in research and development, ensuring continued success through the design and engineering of innovative technologies.
Looking to the future, ZF is striving for Vision Zero – a world of mobility without accidents and emissions, by enabling technologies to allow vehicles to see, think and act. And by the quality and integrity of its products, the Aftermarket division of the ZF Group guarantees the performance and efficiency of vehicles throughout their life cycle, by offering integrated solutions across the entire ZF product portfolio.
ZF’s combination of established product brands like ZF, SACHS, LEMFӦRDER and TRW, digital innovations, customised products and services, and a worldwide service network, has made the company a sought-after partner and number two in the global automotive aftermarket.
At 30 years young, ZF Services Australia says it has been an innovative and exciting three decades. As the business looks toward 2018 and beyond, it is anticipating many more advances as the face of transportation technology changes beyond recognition over the next 30 years.
