The iconic Australian automotive parts manufacturer is celebrating 50 years’ protecting the public

In December 2020 the business was acquired by GUD Holdings. Under this new ownership, further investment by GUD for new capital equipment has now enabled ECB to design, test, and manufacture a new range of frontal protection products to support its future growth and capabilities, and continue its reputation as an industry leader in the Australian frontal protection accessory market.
ECB new Bullbar designs will include, a single Loop Winch Bullbar, a Two-Post Winch Bullbar and the traditional Three-Loop Winch Bullbar. Other new features and benefits that have been requested by customers will include built in rated recovery points, underbody protection, two x aerial tabs and the ability to add an optional 20” LED light bar integrated inside the Bullbars main channel.
East Coast Bullbars will also continue to build a range of Nudge Bars including the 76mm Nudge Bar and Series 2 Nudge Bar with new shapes and designs.
Other noticeable changes include removing the plastic overriders from the front of the channel for a more modern streamlined look. These new options give the buyer the ability to tailor the look they want to the particular driving style and level of protection they desire. The new range is available in ECB’s signature mirror polished finish or choice of powder coat colours.
“We have come to a juncture in ECB’s fifty-year history. The release of the all-new Toyota 300 Series LandCruiser gave us an opportunity to turn to our customers for their preference on frontal protection products while maintaining our safety and strength ECB has been known for,” ECB General Manager, Craig Kittle, said.
“This gave our R&D designers a fresh challenge to meet those products that are just as strong as our traditional offerings and verified with stringent testing.”
This new direction will continue with Bullbar designs for upcoming vehicles such as the all-new Ford Ranger and VW Amarok, both expected later this year. ECB says this will further deliver an improved range of product for the most popular vehicles across Australia to keep ECB’s reputation in releasing first to market frontal protection products.
ECB explains it is continuing to invest in new machinery and manufacturing process capabilities that will take the business into the next 10-year phase. It says this will ensure its manufacturing ability continues to grow and develop as the vehicles change with the rise of EV and PHEV. New Polishing cells and a state-of-the-art Laser cutting machines are due mid-year to further support the all-new designs.
