FORTIFIED STRENGTH

Terrain Tamer’s Fortified range is prepared for Australian conditions

Reserved for its heaviest duty products, Terrain Tamer’s Fortified range consists of several products, each developed to suit the needs of vehicles operating in the most extreme conditions.
Included in the range are Clutches, Shock Absorbers, Brake Kits, Tail Shafts, Hose Kits, Fortified Shock Absorbers, and more.
Now, the brand has added U-bolts to the line-up, having introduced the first of these to suit the popular Toyota Landcruiser 76/78/79 series vehicles.
Perfect for heavy duty applications and vehicles working in mine sites where vehicle operators often have trouble with their standard U-bolts stretching or coming loose, these new Fortified U-bolts are 2mm thicker at 16mm, rather than the OEM 14mm size.
This added 2mm addresses the issue of stretching, giving the Terrain Tamer Fortified U-bolt added strength to support heavy loads and the bending and pressure that comes with the most demanding usage conditions.
While the 16mm bolt does require the plate to be drilled out to suit, the added thickness also means that they can be tightened to a maximum 215 foot-pounds of torque.
Terrain Tamer states this far exceeds the recommended 90 foot-pounds of the standard 14mm equivalent, making them far less likely to come loose while in use.
The Fortified U-bolt is also available as an option in Terrain Tamer’s Fortified Suspension kit for the same vehicle models, which also comes complete with Fortified (five leaf) Parabolic Leaf Springs.
