Dayco Australia continues to introduce new components to its vast Heavy Duty aftermarket product range

The Dayco heavy duty tensioner features multiple patented components that are engineered to handle the higher torque and power pulses exerted by today’s diesel engines.
Rugged pulleys with dual permanently lubricated bearings deliver long lasting, dependable service, says Dayco, which notes that in addition, many Dayco heavy duty tensioners feature highly damped designs using a wave spring and a metal ring combined with a bonded polymeric surface to act as a radial shock absorber for the tensioner arm while reducing contamination.
The latest in the Dayco Heavy Duty range is the 89947 HD Tensioner.
While it appears different to the OE-specification tensioner, it is perfectly interchangeable and composed of two sub-units, not sold individually, to best facilitate assembly.
Designed specifically for DD13 and DD15 engines, Dayco says this premium quality replacement tensioner provides excellent performance, extra resistance and long-lasting durability under the most demanding conditions. It also reportedly reduces belt noise and slippage.
Dayco says, “the Dayco 89947 HD Tensioner is more reliable than the original component because the active elements are inside the bodies of the two sub-units and are not exposed.”
Applications for this new Dayco Tensioner the include direct fitment for Mercedes-Benz, Detroit Diesel and Freightliner engine applications.
