REPCO ENDS 20 YEAR FEUD BETWEEN BATHURST STARS
The latest Repco Bathurst 1000 TVC reunites Ambrose and Murphy two decades on from heated exchange

In a surprise twist, Repco’s latest Bringin’ the Bathurst campaign has reunited former Supercars drivers Greg Murphy and Marcos Ambrose.
It has been 20 years since the pair have met at Mount Panorama after their infamous crash and (ahem) heated exchange at The Cutting in 2005.
“After 20 years, Repco decided these two racing legends needed to close the door on Supercars’ most famous argument, so we approached them both and were thrilled they were happy to be part of it,” Repco Executive General Manager Marketing, Mitch Wiley, said.
The advert includes a big cast of motor racing stars from Australia and New Zealand, including not only Ambrose and Murphy but also Jim Richards, Matt Payne and reigning Bathurst 1000 winner, Todd Hazelwood.
Racing fans will also enjoy some extra little surprises in Repco’s big new TV ad, bringing to life Repco’s connection to the Bathurst enduro and give a nod to some of its historic moments.
The leading supplier of automotive parts and accessories in Australia and New Zealand premiered its latest annual blockbuster television advert which celebrates Repco’s passion for motorsport in September, ahead of the arrival of the Repco Bathurst 1000 endurance race.
“September means one thing for us and it’s not the AFL finals,” Mitch said.
“The Repco Bathurst 1000 roars to life next month. As always, Repco’s annual Bringin’ the Bathurst TV ad is our way of celebrating with our fellow fans our shared passion for motorsport and Australia’s most famous motor race.”
This year’s Repco Bringin’ the Bathurst TV ad was shot at Australia’s holy grail of motor racing, the famed Mount Panorama Circuit, which was closed for recording under controlled conditions.
The ad comedically portrays a holidaying couple taking a tour of Bathurst’s sacred racetrack, but – spoiler alert – they end up with a bit more adventure than they expected.
This year’s Bringin’ the Bathurst ad was produced by Repco in conjunction with leading Australian creative marketing agency Thinkerbell.
Upon its launch, the commercial went live to TV networks and online, and can be viewed on Repco’s YouTube channel.
The 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 race takes place at the Mount Panorama Circuit from 9 – 12 October 2025.
Repco encourages you to also keep your eyes peeled for the Repco Bathurst Tour Bus at Mount Panorama if you are trackside at this year’s Great Race.
