LOVELLS LAUNCHES ELITE SERIES 4495KG GVM UPGRADE

For Toyota Landcruiser 79 Series Single Cab

Australian-owned and operated Lovells Automotive Systems, a global leader in premium suspension and towing solutions, has unveiled its new Elite Series 4495kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) Upgrade for the Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series Single Cab.
It is designed to meet the growing demand for enhanced payload capacity across fleet, commercial, and recreational applications.
The new Elite Series GVM Kits showcase Lovells’ expanded in-house manufacturing, headlined by a Lovells-re-engineered OE rear axle housing that’s widened to correct the track alignment, matching the front – which Lovells says is a well-known 79 Series trait – improving both on-road stability and off-road performance.
To attain the enhanced GVM capabilities, Lovells has extensively re-engineered the factory Toyota axle housing, strengthening its core and upgrading to larger bearing units to support the all-new, in-house-manufactured, two-piece, full-float axle design.
These Cr-Mo shafts feature a non-destructive fracture design to protect the differential and bearings under extreme load.
Each Elite Series kit includes a new, Lovells remanufactured exchange differential, replacing the vehicle’s original unit to deliver enhanced durability and reliability and taking the rear axle capacity to a massive 2850kg.
In what Lovells says is an Australian first, the company subjected its re-engineered axle housing to 10,000 stress cycles of extreme impact testing, simulating worst-case road conditions with peak wheel loads exceeding five tonnes per cycle.
The housing completed the test without a single flaw, demonstrating exceptional strength and reliability far beyond real-world demands.
This rigorous evaluation by both in-lab and real-world testing of the axle housing and core components ensures the Elite Series meets Lovells’ highest durability standards.
“The Elite Series has been one of the most intensive product development programs we’ve undertaken and marks a major milestone for Lovells,” Lovells Managing Director, Simon Crane, said.
“By bringing axle manufacturing completely in-house, we’ve expanded our local capabilities and raised the bar as to what customers can expect from Australian-made engineering.”
Lovells Elite Series kits are engineered to suit specific 79 Series Single Cab variants:
• LC79 Cab Chassis (01/17–08/22): includes Lovells GVM-quality heavy-duty suspension, re-engineered and re-rated rear axle housing, and front and rear brake upgrade including brake booster.
• LC79 J7 Cab Chassis V8 (09/22-on): includes Lovells GVM-quality heavy-duty suspension and re-engineered and re-rated rear axle housing.
• LC79 J7 Cab Chassis 2.8L (09/22-on): includes Lovells GVM-quality heavy-duty suspension, re-engineered and re-rated rear axle housing, and front and rear brake upgrade including brake booster.
Every Lovells upgrade undergoes rigorous local testing and certification to ensure compliance with federal pre-registration and state post-registration requirements, giving operators confidence in payload and safety.
