PENRITE RACING TRIUMPHS AT BATHURST 1000

Matt Payne and Garth Tander took the win after an incredible race

Penrite Oil is proudly celebrating a landmark victory at the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000, with Matt Payne and Garth Tander taking the chequered flag for Penrite Racing.
This win marked Matt Payne’s first Bathurst 1000 victory and Penrite’s first Bathurst win since 2017 – a huge milestone for Penrite Oil, Grove Racing, and Australian motorsport.
After 161 laps and more than six hours of tough racing, Penrite Racing showed amazing teamwork, smart strategy, and steady pace.
Starting from 18th on the grid, Matt and Garth fought their way through the field with skill and determination.
Backed by quick pit stops and great teamwork, the #100 Penrite Mustang stayed strong all race long before in the closing laps, Matthew held under pressure to secure the victory.
Following a penalty for James Golding (PremiAir Racing), Penrite Racing was officially confirmed as the 2025 Supercars Bathurst 1000 winner.
It was also a great weekend across the whole Penrite Racing team as Kai Allen and Dale Wood finished in eighth place after a consistent performance, with Kai qualifying for the Supercars Championship Finals, which began at the Gold Coast 500.
The Supercars Bathurst win came at a special time for Penrite, as the team also kicked off the company’s 100-year celebrations during the Bathurst weekend.
A new centenary livery was unveiled, highlighting Penrite’s proud Australian heritage and its long history of innovation, performance, and endurance since 1926.
“Watching Matt and Garth bring home the win at Bathurst was an incredible moment for everyone at Penrite,” Penrite Oil Chief Executive Officer, Toby Dymond, said.
“It was the perfect way to launch our 100-year celebrations during the Bathurst weekend – and it felt even more special that the #100 car took the victory.
“This win means a lot to everyone at Penrite and reflects the spirit of teamwork, commitment, and pride that drives us every day.”
As Penrite approaches its 100th year, the company says this victory is another proud chapter in its story – celebrating Australian-owned and made quality, strong partnerships, and community spirit.
Established in Melbourne in 1926, Penrite Oil explains it is a 100 percent Australian-owned and operated lubricants company built on a proud legacy of quality, innovation, and trust.
From humble beginnings to becoming a household name, Penrite has been part of Australian life for generations – trusted to deliver performance on the road, in the workshop, and on the racetrack.
