RECYCLED ALUMINIUM CALIPERS

Where “innovation begins at the source,” according to Brembo

Brembo says its calipers made with 100 percent recycled aluminium embody its vision of transforming eco-consciousness into innovation, and innovation into strength, design, and identity, “because for us, excellence means crafting calipers that are as responsible as they are remarkable.”
Brembo says the innovation begins at the source with recycled aluminium, stating that thanks to this material, lifecycle CO₂ emissions across the entire lifecycle of the caliper are reduced by up to 70 percent compared to traditional alloys*, while the calipers retain the iconic Brembo design as well as “unmatched performance, and unmistakable character.”
Further, Brembo highlights that aluminium itself is infinitely recyclable and is a material that never loses its value no matter how many times it is reused.
Thanks to this innovation, Brembo explains that design freedom remains unaltered, so distinctive shapes, a wide colour palette, and the unmistakable Brembo style continue to define every caliper.
Finally, it explains that the alloy chosen is available worldwide, ensuring a single standard across all Brembo production sites – ready to be scaled globally without compromise.
The first Brembo caliper made from 100 percent recycled aluminium is a four-piston monobloc with an ENESYS spring, designed to optimise braking performance and pedal feel.
The blue colour was intentionally chosen to symbolise Brembo’s commitment to increasingly eco-conscious solutions, while the design is said to reflect Brembo’s dedication to “performance, style, and unmistakable character.”
This innovation is designed for one of Brembo’s major customers, with the rollout planned across all markets.

More than recycled: upcycled
Brembo says, “this is not just about recycled aluminium – it is much more: these calipers are made from upcycled aluminium,” explaining that it doesn’t simply reuse the original material, it “transforms it, giving it new and greater value,” taking aluminium scraps and turning them into a material with “uncompromised mechanical strength, and excellent castability, but with lower emissions.”
Each caliper carries the ALU registered trademark logo, a distinctive symbol of Brembo’s innovation that highlights each caliper made with recycled aluminium.

From research to reality
Brembo’s recycled aluminium calipers are the result of more than five years of research and development at Brembo, involving a dedicated team of over 30 engineers, designers, and technicians.
Together, they re-engineered the production process to make recycled aluminium highly performing as the primary one, says the company.
From New Energy Vehicles to premium performance models, Brembo asserts that these calipers “demonstrate that responsibility and performance can coexist, without compromise.”
