EGR coolers are essential in modern engines to maintain efficiency and meet exhaust emission standards

Adrad explains it is a leading manufacturer and supplier of engine cooling parts, in particular radiators and intercoolers.
It also claims to offer Australia’s largest range of quality aftermarket EGR coolers.

For passenger cars, 4x4s, light commercials and heavy vehicles
Adrad says it has co-developed and selectively sourced EGR coolers from world-class manufacturers. The products are designed and constructed to meet or exceed original equipment specifications with direct, bolt-in fitment.
Adrad’s range of EGR coolers suit more than 100 applications and cover popular vehicle makes including Audi, BMW, Citroen, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Landrover, Mazda, Nissan, Peugeot, Skoda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.

Signs of EGR Cooler failure
Often the first sign that there’s a problem with the EGR cooler is the ‘Check Engine’ light. Restriction or a fault at the EGR cooler will trigger the engine control management system to alter settings that compromise the environmental and engine efficiency.
Other warning signs of EGR cooler failure include white smoke or steam from the exhaust or a gradual loss of coolant where no leak is visible.
‘Puking’ at the overflow reservoir can occur when extremely high temperatures are reached within the EGR cooler, causing coolant to boil inside the unit. The sudden expansion of gas will force the liquid coolant into the overflow reservoir and leave air pockets in the engine block cooling channels, preventing effective engine cooling.

Always check the whole cooling system
Whenever a cooling issue is detected, it is important to examine the entire vehicle cooling system for failures or restrictions. A problem component can produce issues with downstream parts, especially if coolant flow is restricted.

Quality Accreditation and National Warranty Support
Adrad says that all of its aftermarket parts, including EGR coolers, are supplied under the company’s ISO accreditation 9001:2015, with national warranty and full sales support.
