CENTURY POWERS UP ITS PS RANGE
The line-up of high performance multi-purpose VRLA batteries has expanded

Century Batteries has announced a series of important updates to its PS range of stationary power batteries, expanding the line-up with new models designed to deliver enhanced performance, improved amp-hour capacity, and greater installation flexibility.
It says these upgrades strengthen the PS range’s reputation as a trusted solution for standby and stationary power applications, including security systems, emergency lighting, UPS backup, and telecommunications.
Century PS batteries are high performance multi-purpose VRLA batteries designed to deliver dependable primary and back-up power in both domestic and commercial applications.
Manufactured to the latest international standards using premium-grade raw materials and superior production processes, Century says they provide reliable, trouble-free power in high-service-life applications.
Ideal for use in systems requiring constant power over extended periods, the PS range also provides dependable reserve energy to operate critical systems in the event of mains power failure.
The latest release focuses on incremental but meaningful improvements that translate into real-world benefits for customers.
Century explains that the new models provide higher amp-hour ratings compared to their predecessors, ensuring greater usable capacity and longer runtime in critical backup situations.
It says this increase in available energy not only improves efficiency but also adds value for installers and end users who rely on dependable, long-lasting performance from their standby power solutions.
One of the most notable updates is the introduction of the Century PS6140 (6V, 14Ah), which replaces the outgoing 12Ah version.
This battery is now supplied with T1 terminals, enhancing its versatility and making it suitable for a broader range of installations.
Flexibility is also at the forefront of the changes made to the 9Ah models, explains Century.
The updated PS1290S and PS1290L (both 12V, 9Ah) are now available with both T1 and T2 terminal options, ensuring they can be installed across a wider range of systems without the need for adaptors or workarounds.
Century states this improvement streamlines installation, reduces downtime, and allows customers to select the configuration that best suits their specific requirements.
The rollout continues with further upgrades scheduled throughout November – introducing the PS675 (6V, 7.5Ah), upgraded from 7Ah; the PS1223 (12V, 2.3Ah), upgraded from 2Ah; the PS1235 (12V, 3.5Ah), upgraded from 3.2Ah; and the PS1245 (12V, 4.5Ah), upgraded from 4Ah.
These enhancements represent small but valuable gains in capacity, offering more efficient power delivery and improved service life without altering the physical footprint of the batteries, says Century.
Every model in the range features Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology, which suspends the liquid electrolyte within highly porous glass fibre separators for improved charge efficiency and vibration resistance.
The Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) recombinant design eliminates the need for regular maintenance, enabling fitment in hard-to-reach locations without any loss of performance, capacity or service life.
Further expansions are planned into early 2026, ensuring the Century PS range continues to evolve in line with customer needs and technological developments.
Century says that collectively, these updates highlight its commitment to continuous improvement across its stationary power portfolio, ensuring that customers always have access to high-quality, reliable, and versatile energy storage solutions.
As with all Century products, the new PS range is backed by the company’s extensive distribution network and technical expertise.
Century says installers and resellers can depend on local availability, comprehensive support, and “the same high standards of quality that Century has delivered for more than 95 years.”
