One of the fastest growing workshop networks in Australia continued to grow and prosper in 2017

The Bosch Car Service network, supported by Bosch, increased in size by another 18 workshops across Australia and New Zealand last year, making it the fourth year of strong growth.
“Bosch’s goal is to ensure we continue to grow with the right type of quality workshops, whilst not affecting the overall service levels to existing workshops in the network,” Bosch Car Service Manager – Oceania, Sam Alexander, said.
“Not only did the network grow, we also achieved above target results in the annual Bosch Car Service workshop (independent) quality audits conducted in 2017.
“The average combined mystery shopper results were also above 80 percent. The quality of our workshops is key to being one of the best networks of independent workshops available to the consumer.”
Bosch says that it knows independent workshops rarely have first-hand information on what is going on in the industry and sometimes lack the resources and connections to keep abreast of latest developments.
So, you may ask, how can you energise your workshop to be one step ahead of the rest?
Well, says Bosch, with a focus on the development of technical and business know-how, the Bosch Car Service concept addresses the issues independent workshops face on a near daily basis, so that they (over time) can gain that competitive edge that is required in today’s market.

Technical and Diagnostic Support
Bosch Car Service experienced technicians are equipped with extensive skills and knowledge on vehicle diagnosis and repair and they’re just a phone call away.

The Bosch Car Service eight module automotive aftermarket technical training program is carefully structured and regularly updated to keep your technicians at the forefront of technology.
“Learning modules like common rail diagnosis, electronic battery management, vehicle braking systems as well as hybrid and electric vehicles modules, will ensure you can continue to work on those newer vehicles coming into your workshop”, Bosch Senior Technical Trainer, Darren Todd, said.
In addition, Bosch’s dedicated business management training program covers all aspects of business management. In 2017, Bosch increased the number of modules available to the network by adding two more.
The addition of the “Financial Management” and “Health and Safety in the Workplace” modules now make a total of 13 modules readily available. This translates to a true saving of more than $10,000 each for relevant staff and is totally free for all Bosch Car Service members, says Bosch.
The strong global Bosch branding also helps workshops stand out from the competitors, says the company. With more than 17,000 other independent workshops competing for local business, it’s more important than ever to make a lasting impression. The iconic Bosch brand is well known for quality and by leveraging off the global brand, your customers could instantly relate this positive perception against your own workshop too.

Marketing Support
Bosch has a dedicated marketing support team which gives you the opportunity to leverage off the Bosch Car Service brand in your own local area.
“The iconic Bosch brand is well known for its quality. After joining the network a few years ago, I definitely noticed a change in customer behaviour towards my workshop,” Frank Spiteri from Rincap in Milperra (NSW) said.
“As a result of the partnership with Bosch, our customers instantly relate our workshop to being of the same quality in the service and products that we provide for them. The brand does drive new customers through to our business.”

Group Networking
Bosch holds multiple networking events during the year in all regions to bring not just the Bosch Car Service members together, but also the Bosch Diesel and Bosch auto electrical workshops.
At these events, members get first hand updates on the future of the automotive industry, best business practices and an opportunity to develop professional business relationships with other network members.
The network annual fee is one of the most competitive in the industry compared to other workshop concepts, as it’s not based on a percentage of your turnover.
In 2018, Bosch says it will continue to actively seek workshop owners who have an entrepreneurial mindset and are always looking to improve their business.
