FIVE STAR MASTAR FOR MORE4X4

Australians seem to be falling in love with large American vehicles like the Chevy Silverado and the Dodge Ram

In many ways it makes sense, we have a large country not dissimilar to the US, but it is not identical and so workshops like More4x4 are tasked with making the necessary upgrades.
Tie that together with the offroad vehicles that we are used to seeing on our roads like the Toyota LandCruiser and Nissan Patrol Big GVM Upgrades and we have a range of large and heavy vehicles needing to be upgraded by owners with specific needs.
More4x4 is said to be one of the leading companies for these upgrades, an Australian family company that has a solid reputation in the 4×4 community.
When their need arose for an upgrade to their workshop equipment, they turned to MAHA because according to one of the owners, Aaron Mitchell, they had heard it was the best.
“What helped me get to that (conclusion) was…through our social media, we have a large social media following…we actually put it out into the community (and asked) what the community thought was the best on the market,” Aaron said.
“We have about 110,000 followers across our community. We just put it out through social media, and that’s a spread of all sorts of people, including other people in the industry. There were a lot of people from the industry who commented.”
MAHA says while that is perhaps one of the most ‘new gen’ ways of choosing a workshop equipment supplier, it shows that if the equipment is good, word gets around, and people are quick to recommend it.
Recommendations only go a short way to finally choosing the equipment though, and Aaron contacted Mick Lauster of MAHA as well as a few other suppliers to make sure he had a good handle on what was on offer in the market.
“Mick was the only person to come out to us and assess what was actually needed,” Aaron said.
“The other companies provided information, but MAHA was the only one that came to the More4x4 workshop to assess its needs and the location of the equipment.”
That sold it to Aaron, and More4x4 ordered the MAHA MASTAR 5500kgs two post hoist.
“We’ve purchased that hoist to accommodate our growth into American trucks,” Aaron said.
“Typically, (when) we take a standard vehicle and then modify it – it could leave us a tonne heavier.”
Aaron said while this statement explains why More4x4 chose the MASTAR 5.5 tonne hoist, it also wasn’t the only reason.
Even though the MAHA is only 1.5 tonnes more than the other hoists in his workshop, he said the sheer size of the equipment was really confidence inspiring.
“These things are massive, precision engineered. It has got features that are significantly different from the other hoists that we run – it has even got an anti-crush safety feature,” Aaron said.
“If there’s anything underneath the hoist, the hoist will pick it up and it will stop descending.”
MAHA explains its MASTAR 5.5 incorporates a sturdy and solid design with H-profile columns that are highly stable and torsion free.
Not only does the hoist have a safety-off function when being lowered, it also has height measurement via touchless proximity switches.
It also features a proven spindle-nut system used by MAHA Germany for over 35 years with self-locking thread, and comes with a five-year warranty.
More4x4 has now had the hoist for around four months and can’t speak more highly of the equipment or MAHA.
Aaron says he was impressed that the installation was done in a timeframe that meant minimal disruption to the workshop, in fact he stated that it was excellent.
“It was as minimally impactful as we could have hoped. You know, the week beforehand, they had an X-ray surveyor come out and scan out the floor. It was very professional,” Aaron said.
“From the very beginning, the consultation process, project management, the installation, the after-service care has been excellent. It’s been a fabulous experience.
“If I was to replace any of our other hoists it would be MAHA one hundred percent. Our expectations about the whole process have been exceeded.
“This equipment will last me 30 or 40 years and I’m going to be able to get service for years to come with MAHA, that gives me confidence. It’s an investment.”
