This new product line adds to Garrett’s impressive turbocharger catalogue
Garrett has announced the launch of its Garrett Boost Club Line turbochargers. These turbochargers have been engineered for small engine displacements in automobiles, watercraft, and powersports.
They offer a cost-effective option for turbocharging naturally aspirated engines or upgrades on any platform.
Garrett says this product line serves as a great introduction for those who are new to turbocharging vehicles.
The product line includes four GBC turbochargers in different compressor inducer sizes and horsepower ranges. These are the GBC14-200, GBC17-250, GBC20-300 and GBC22-350. Prices start at $982 for the GBC14-200, which Garrett describes as a great value for one of its quality turbochargers.
The first two numbers indicate the turbine wheel frame size. The larger the number, the larger the turbine wheel. The numbers after the dash show the peak potential flywheel horsepower rating. Forged, fully-machined compressor wheels with advanced aero are available in inducer sizes of 34mm, 36mm, 41mm, and 44mm.
The turbochargers are fully assembled with internally wastegated turbine housings and journal bearing rotating groups. They are calibrated with a 0.5 bar actuator.
Garrett also offers actuators with higher pressure settings (1.0, 1.5 bar) for individual purchase. Garrett states that its actuators are calibrated for optimum performance by its technicians to eliminate any need for adjustment. These GPC turbochargers also feature an oil center housing with the latest generation of journal bearing rotating group.
The forged, fully-machined compressor wheels can support from 200 up to 350 horsepower for engine displacements ranging from 0.4L up to 2.5L. The GBC versus G Series diagram shows where this range fits into the horsepower and engine size range to Garrett’s high-performance G Series range.
