GPC AWARDS DINNER HAILED A SUCCESS!

The inaugural GPC Asia Pacific Hall of Fame Supplier Awards Dinner (formerly Repco Hall of Fame) was held on the Gold Coast on Tuesday February 18, 2020

Shayne Quaile, General Manager Merchandise Automotive Specialist accepting on behalf of Prestolite Electric Inc.

This year marked the first year the awards night recognised the best suppliers to not only Repco, but also the wider GPC Asia Pacific group of businesses including NAPA and its other trade businesses, in a reflection of the single vision of the Group.
The warm and humid conditions didn’t stop some of the best Australasian automotive aftermarket suppliers stepping out to celebrate a tough but successful 2019. Spirits were high and nominees were suitably excited. Laughing, reflecting and celebrating was as common as networking and introductions, as attendees took the opportunity to meet new faces and suppliers from across the wider GPC Asia Pacific business.
Mark ‘Beretts’ Beretta provided MC duties for the special evening, which is regarded by many suppliers as one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. Mark is no stranger to sport and motorsport, best known for his time as Sport Presenter on Breakfast TV show ‘Sunrise,’ and as a host of Seven’s major sport broadcasts, including the Bathurst 1000.
Prestolite Electric Inc took home Best New Product for its innovative work on the M128 Starter Motor range; while Milwaukee took out the Digital Activation Award in a fantastic reflection of the work put into this new strategic partnership.

Paul Maclean, Strategic Account Manager, Transportation, Milwaukee with Brett Jennings, General Manager Consumer Merchandise.

Other winners included Penrite, Century Yuasa, Castrol and Ryco; each veterans of the Hall of Fame having all won awards in previous years.
Brown and Watson Industries were the stars of the night, with a total of five nominations and three wins, including the most prestigious award: GPC Asia Pacific Supplier of the Year.
The big news to be unveiled during presentations was the GPC APAC’s big plan for a new superstore concept, titled REPCO MAX.
“Repco is taking it to the Max. This will be the very best of what Repco has to offer and truly represent our customer value proposition,” Repco Australia Executive General Manager, Wayne Bryant, said.
The first of its kind store will be located at Logan City (Brisbane) at the current NAPA Auto Parts site and will feature a 1400sqm store, special garage equipment ranges, a market-leading car care offer and unrivalled service from the same team managing the store currently.
