LED lighting has revolutionised automotive lighting over the past decade, delivering a potent mix of much more efficient and effective lighting and the ability to use lighting as a design feature.
Indeed, car designers today use LED lighting to create a brand ‘signature’ that is carried consistently across its model range, immediately identifying a BMW from a Ford, a Mercedes from a Skoda. The light pattern produced by these designer lights are as good as seeing the badge.
CoolDrive Auto Parts says it has long been at the forefront of automotive innovation, on trend with the latest in technology and fashion accessories through its extensive inventory.
“LED lighting has changed the lighting landscape in so many ways,” CoolDrive Auto Parts Category Manager – Electrical Accessories, David Heydrich, said.
“In automotive we’ve seen it in terms of vehicle headlights for passenger cars, SUVs, 4WDs and trucks, and the flow through to accessories like driving lights and light bars, trailer lights, caravan lights and now more broadly with work lights.
“Roadside inspection lamps, flood lights for the roadside or workshop, general work lights, pocket torches as well as recreational lighting for caravanning or camping now all benefit from LED technology.”
CoolDrive says it carries an extensive range of premium brand and budget conscious automotive accessory lighting.
It says Ignite, Lightforce, Hella and house-brand Hulk 4×4 lead the line-up of quality lighting product available, embracing everything from driving lights to utility lights, single and dual row lightbars, search lights, hunting lights, trailer lights, lights for the camp site, roadside lights, inspection lamps, torches and lots more.
At the forefront of this LED lighting revolution is Ignite, an Australian-owned automotive lighting specialist originally established in 2004 as a manufacturer of halogen products, and now a leader of LED lighting and accessories in Australia.
Robust and lightweight, CoolDrive says the Ignite LED range offers products ideal for the professional workshop environment or the home garage as well as for recreational use such as camping or general handyman duties.

The premium Ignite products cover a range of vehicle applications, including heavy duty fitments such as the 9” driving lights which are said to be exceptionally popular with truck drivers who need to tackle long distances.
Ignite’s 9” LED driving lights provide 12,000 raw lumens of light to increase long range vision and the flexibility of both a Spot Beam and a Driving Beam, making them ideal for outback highway use.
Ignite’s offerings also include a range of LED inspection lamps and worklamps, consisting of hand-held work lights, flood lights, roadside inspection lamps, camping lights and pocket torches, as well as lightbars and trailer lights, including caravan lighting, plus fitting and mounting accessories, with the range totalling over 200 part numbers.
CoolDrive’s house brand Hulk 4×4 is focused more towards the recreational 4×4 end of the market, part of a broader range of more than 150 parts and accessories now being offered by Hulk 4×4 to the active four-wheel-drive market.
Among its on-vehicle lighting products are slim-line multi-fit minebars, which are designed and manufactured in Australia.
The Hulk 4×4 minebars each measure 1.2m wide, are made from heavy-duty black anodised extruded aluminium and feature different weather-proof light combinations suitable for 12 or 24-volt applications. Both Hulk 4×4 minebars feature a central amber 103 Series low-profile LED beacon, two ADR-approved LED rear combination lamps and a Brigade tonal reversing alarm, which provides the traditional “beep beep” sound.
The Hulk 4×4 range also covers a range of LED utility lights, such as a work light with integrated speakers and torch, camping lights, a five-watt inspection lamp, as well as a handy headlamp torch.
