LOVELLS BOOSTS FORD RANGER’S CAPABILITIES
The Second Stage Manufacturer has introduced 4,000kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) upgrades for the Ford Ranger

Fresh from the launch of its four-tonne Brake Towing Capacity (BTC) upgrades for the V6-tubo diesel Ford Ranger, Lovells Automotive Systems has further boosted the capabilities of one of Australia’s top-selling Utes with the launch of a 4,000kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) upgrade available across the 4×4 Ford Ranger model line, including 2.0L bi-turbo, inline-four and 3.0L V6, turbo-diesel models.
Featuring eight-way adjustable remote reservoir shock absorbers, the upgrades have been designed and engineered locally to increase the on-board load carrying capabilities of the vehicle without compromising ride quality.
The kit boosts payload capacity by up to 720kg and is ideally suited for use by leisure, trades, emergency services and primary industries customers where bespoke rear trays and equipment carrying capabilities are key.
The new kits are complemented by optional uprated upper control arms for both drivetrain variants.
“Lovells four-tonne GVM upgrades are designed, engineered and made for local conditions to enhance the safety and practicality of the Ford Ranger line-up,” Lovells Automotive Systems Managing Director, Mike Davison, said.
“This upgrade means that adventurers, tradies and emergency services personnel can use their vehicles with confidence, be they loading it with work equipment, or the family and leisure gear for a getaway.
“When paired with our recently launched Brake Towing Capacity upgrades for V6 powered Rangers, the Lovells enhanced Ford Ranger makes for a formidable machine at work or play – not just for its load carrying abilities, but also its towing capabilities.”
Australian compliant
Lovells says its 4,000kg GVM upgrade helps protect businesses, managers and owners from potential OH&S breaches, employee negligence, and legal liabilities by ensuring vehicles remain within approved carrying capacities, reducing the risk of voided insurance claims or litigation.
Rigorously tested to meet stringent local criteria, it has achieved full government approval for both federal (pre-registration) and state (post-registration) compliance.
Proudly Australian-designed, engineered, tested, and installed locally, Lovells says this upgrade is legally recognised nationwide, delivering superior reliability and performance.
