In this column, Capricorn Society’s Group Chief Executive Officer, David Fraser, updates us on all things Capricorn

Capricorn recently embarked on an ambitious project to look under the bonnet of our industry.
We wanted to better understand the mood amongst our Members, to really get a handle on the issues, trends and challenges affecting them, their businesses, and the industry as a whole.
More than 1,500 Members took part in the most substantial survey Capricorn has undertaken in its 40-year history, creating a snapshot of our industry today.
The result is the Capricorn State of the Nation report.
This report provides insights that will help our Members strengthen their workshops and set benchmarks that measure success.
Capricorn Members can look forward to viewing the report in the coming months via a new resource portal that we’ve dubbed, “CapHub.”
Full of valuable content designed to inform and entertain, CapHub will include bite sized business tips, workshop hacks and full industry reports to help our Members stay on top of everything that’s happening in auto.
This new Capricorn Member benefit will be available in late August.
Capricorn Rising Stars program
2020 marks the third year of the Capricorn Rising Stars program.
It has been an absolute honour to be part of this initiative that recognises the next generation of automotive professionals.
I would like to congratulate our five finalists, Lachlan Fraser, Abby Brice, Dylan Quinn, Lochlan Robinson and Gabrielle Clift who have managed to distinguish themselves amongst another outstanding pool of apprentices.
I also would like to thank our Capricorn Preferred Suppliers and program sponsors Castrol, Repco, The Workshop Whisperer, Autodata Training and TaT; who make Capricorn Rising Stars possible.

Yours in cooperation,
David Fraser
