The well-respected senior executive has been appointed as Repco’s new General Manager for the Southern Zone

After resigning from his long-held tenure at Ryco, AAAA Board Member Guy Nicholls has been announced as the new General Manager, Southern Zone for GPC Asia Pacific’s Repco business, commencing from the 2nd of August 2019.
In his new role, Guy will be responsible for 1,000 team members across nearly 100 stores. He replaces Ross Kusters, who has moved into a General Manager National Operations role.
After starting his career as an apprentice mechanic, Guy joined the aftermarket in 1995 where his association as a supplier to Repco commenced. Over the past 24 years Guy progressed through Federal Mogul, Motospecs and then Disc Brakes Australia before settling in at Ryco in 2008.
Over this time, Guy has developed deep relationships with many individuals at Repco and GPC Asia Pacific from Store Team Members to the Chief Executive Officer of GPC Asia Pacific.
Guy became the Chief Executive Officer of Ryco Group in 2015 and in this time, he and his team have had many achievements, including being awarded ‘2018 Supplier of the Year’ by Repco, Burson and Supercheap Auto. They also successfully acquired and integrated Innovative Mechatronics, AA Gaskets and Disc Brakes Australia into their business.
When asked about his decision to join
Repco, Guy was nothing short of enthusiastic and proud.
“I am very pleased and excited to be taking on this new role with GPC Asia Pacific and Repco,” Guy said.
“I have a strong background in trade and I am looking forward to growing my experience in the retail side of the business through the management of around 100 Repco dual-format (trade and retail) stores while being accountable for more than three times as many team members as I have been previously.
“A big reason why I chose this role is the vibe of Genuine Parts Company. It is growing both domestically and internationally, it has a great healthy culture, strong values and a fantastic team of people which is only set to be bolstered further in the future.
“As a global company, I am also looking forward to the exposure this role will bring for me within the global marketplace. Starting out as a mechanic by trade and working my way through the industry from Sales Rep to State Manager through to divisional Chief Executive Officer of a public company, this is a step in a different direction for me and one which I am very excited about.”
