Petronas’ range of high-performance race-winning lubricants is now available from CoolDrive Auto Parts

Best known globally for its major technical partnership with the all-conquering Silver Arrows Mercedes Benz Formula 1 team, Petronas produces a range of advanced engine and transmission lubricants, and coolants, used by the team in Grand Prix competition.
Its Syntium (with CoolTech) range of lubricants was developed in Turin, Italy, at its $60 million laboratory and technical facility, and is first-fill on selected Mercedes Benz AMG models.
“Such advanced technology and performance requirements stand Petronas products apart from its rivals, and we are delighted to add them to our offering,” CoolDrive Product Manager – Underbody and Cooling, Graeme Dyall, said.
“CoolDrive is excited to partner with a company of such high repute and at the cutting edge of technology when it comes to automotive lubricants. “Our launch is in two stages, with the engine lubricants initially and transmission fluids a little later.”
Petronas Syntium lubricants carry a wide range of manufacturer approvals including Mercedes Benz, BMW, Porsche and the various Volkswagen group brands for passenger car and light commercial applications, and meet or exceed the latest API and ACEA classifications.
The Syntium lubricants are suitable for petrol and diesel powered vehicles, ensuring wide coverage of the Australian car market, and all use Petronas’ trademarked CoolTech formulation which effectively absorbs excessive engine heat out of critical parts to aid greater durability.
This CoolTech formulation was developed in Turin originally for application for the Mercedes AMG Formula 1 team engines.
Petronas engine lubricants are available from CoolDrive in 1 litre, 5 litre, 18 litre and 20 litre containers.
