The harmonic damper specialist is now under new ownership

After more than 30 years under the control of drag racing legend, Graham Withers, the
Pro/Race product lines are now owned by GAP Manufacturing Pty Ltd.
GAP Manufacturing owner, Glenn Paine, settled the business in March 2021. Glenn is active in the AAAA being a Director of the Automotive Innovation Centre.
As a result of the change in ownership,
Pro/Race Performance Products has relocated from the Mentone factory where it was located for more than 20 years to a shared facility in Port Melbourne.
Glenn has managed the Pro/Race business over the past four years and Business Manager, Simone Ryan, has also made the shift from Mentone to Port Melbourne.
Former long-term Pro/Race employee Peter Verlei has also re-joined the team and is using his vast experience to support inventory management, order fulfillment and new product development.
Pro/Race provides three product streams,
Pro/Racer, Pro/Sport and Pro/Street to cater for all levels of engine performance.
Pro/Racer and Pro/Sport are SFI certified making them suitable for competition use.
The top-of-the-line Pro/Racer Harmonic Dampers are all steel and manufactured here in Australia. The company explains that the rolled lip design of Pro/Racer Harmonic Dampers has been independently tested at 18,000RPM for over an hour and greatly exceeds the SFI spin test requirements.
Further, it states Pro/Race’s proven performance sees it hold contracts with major US OEMs.
Pro/Race Dampers are sold in the United States (where it has a distribution warehouse in Temecula, CA), Europe and the UK.
Pro/Race caters to your classic GM, FORD, Chrysler engines, new generation GM LS
and FORD modular engine family and also caters for UK brands such as Jaguar, Austin Healey and MG.
It is also currently in development with some new products and also accepts requests for the development of new Dampers.
