Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R and RS

During 2019 Goodyear successfully launched the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport into the Ultra High Performance (UHP) tyre category.
Now Goodyear says it is proud to announce the latest additions to the ‘Ultra Ultra High Performance’ (UUHP) tyre category.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R caters to both road and track applications, while the Eagle F1 SuperSport RS is Goodyear’s most race-focused tyre, designed to push the limits on track while remaining road legal.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R is designed to allow the driver to have the best of both worlds: drive on the road in complete safety and confidence then entice the maximum grip at the track.
This new entry to the UUHP category relies on extensive superior R&D where Goodyear says we now see the following advances in tyre compounding and construction the competition is scrambling to copy:
• Bridge Assist technology that sees a rubber bridge in the first groove to increase block stability while creating improved resistance to tread-bending at high speed, ensuring extended cornering stability.
• Impulse Plus Construction technology optimising the tyre’s contour for improved pressure distribution which insures the ultimate steering precision.
• Powerline Cover technology which incorporates a tread deformation protector for the high speeds seen with UUHP vehicles.
• Advanced Control Compound technology developed using improved resins resulting in a better friction rate therefore delivering exceptional grip.
While the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R is designed to allow everyday driving, it is a different story with the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS.
Goodyear says “this is the tyre embarrassing the competition, taking seconds off lap times, placing it at the very pointy end of overall performance, grip and handling. With rave reviews no matter where it is run, the SuperSport RS resets the bar and then some.”
Incorporating many of the same features as the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R with Bridge Assist and Powerline Cover technologies, the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS goes more than one step further with its RacePro Compound.
While the two former technologies extend the cornering stability primarily at high speeds, by utilising RacePro Compound technology Goodyear says it has developed a UUHP tyre with massive improvements in grip on both cold and hot surfaces, creating “hyper-grip” on what is seen as the ultimate street legal tyre for track use.
Goodyear says both the Eagle F1 SuperSport R and RS tyres put the company “firmly back where it belongs: leading the performance tyre pack.”
