Raw 4×4 says its Raw Nitro Max range has just gotten bigger and better

As part of its continuous improvement program, Raw 4×4 says all Nitro Max strut and shock designs have been upgraded to a “massive” 45mm bore size.
Being part of the Powerdown truck shock absorber group, Raw 4×4 says it has utilised the same heavy-duty truck technology which has proven itself over millions of kilometers on commercial vehicles.
Raw 4×4 explains the 45mm piston design was chosen for its durability and its ability to be precisely tuned for comfort and control.
It says the key advantage of a larger piston is that the operating pressures inside the shock are greatly reduced, improving the overall performance of the unit.
This large bore size is housed in a 61mm body design for extra oil capacity and a nitrogen gas charge to soak up the corrugations with minimal drop off in valving, known as “shock fade.” High temperature oil and a multi-lip HNBR seal were specified to further enhance the design.
Coming from a truck shock pedigree, Raw 4×4 says all materials and fittings offer an extremely high tensile strength to withstand high side loads and stone damage. It states this is most noticeable when picking up a Nitro Max shock in terms of physical weight compared to the OE unit.
The Nitro Max range is suitable for fitment in the following vehicle applications – Toyota Landcruiser 80, 100, 105 and 200 series; Toyota Hilux KUN and GUN; Toyota Prado 120 and 150 series; Toyota FJ Cruiser; Nissan Patrol GU and GQ; Nissan Navara D40 and NP300; Ford Ranger PX 1, 2 and 3.
