R&J Batteries says it has proven yet again why it is Australia’s fastest growing battery company, by opening its 23rd store at the start of July

The new store is located on 45 Macleod Street Bairnsdale, in Victoria, and takes over where Wilsons Batteries and Lubes was previously located.
Earlier in the year, Wilsons Batteries and Lubes elected to pass its business’ reins over to
R&J Batteries, who will be able to continue the excellent service to communities in the Bairnsdale and East Gippsland areas.
R&J Batteries’ association with Wilsons Batteries and Lubes’ founders, Rob and Jacinta Wilson, dates back 12 years to when they supplied batteries and oil to the Wilsons’ previous business, RWB industrial. The Wilsons decided to retain these products when they re-opened the business as Wilsons Batteries and Lubes back in 2016.
“Although Wilsons Batteries and Lubes now has a new name – R&J Batteries – the quality of products and service remains the same,”
R&J Batteries Co-founder and Managing Director, Ray Robson, said.
World class brands such as ACDelco, Delkor, Fullriver, Motobatt and Fuchs that were previously available at Wilsons Batteries and Lubes will continue to be available at the Bairnsdale store along with other brands in
R&J Batteries’ extensive brand portfolio such as U.S Battery, BAE, Optima, Predator and Hardcore. The retail store will also be carrying new brands in the filters and cleaning products categories.
Following the sale of Wilsons Batteries and Lubes, Rob and Jacinta will go into retirement.
“I have worked in retail – the majority of the time in Bairnsdale – for 48 years and that’s long enough,” Rob said.
“When we sold our previous business, RWB Industrial, we were not quite ready to retire but now we are,” Jacinta said.
“Once the COVID-19 situation gets better, we are planning to travel around Australia and see everything our beautiful country has to offer.
“On a parting note, we would like to thank our staff and customers for making the business what it is today. We have had a great 12 year working relationship with R&J Batteries so we couldn’t think of a more fitting company to take over the business.”
All existing staff that were instrumental in making Wilsons Batteries and Lubes a success have been employed by R&J Batteries, in a move the company says proves its commitment to helping the local community.
“We are excited to grow our footprint with the recent opening of our Bairnsdale store and look forward to becoming part of the surrounding community in Bairnsdale,” Ray said.
Since its inception in 1995, R&J Batteries says it has built a reputation throughout Australia and New Zealand as the fastest growing battery company. One of the principle drivers behind this success is attributed by the company to its range of world class products “at reasonable prices, backed by outstanding service.”
Through its 23 stores and 7,000 distributors, R&J Batteries says it ensures its quality products are within reach for consumers across Australia and New Zealand.
R&J Batteries says it stocks some of the world’s leading battery products such as the award-winning Delkor batteries, ‘six-pack’ shaped Optima batteries, Fullriver AGM batteries, performance-driven ACDelco batteries, industrial heavy-weight U.S Battery, Motobatt and German-made BAE batteries and Fuchs lubricants. These batteries are designed for a comprehensive range of applications including automotive, commercial, industrial, deep-cycle, solar, motorcycle and more.
