Kid-friendly vehicle seat replacements are now available

Vehicle Engineering Australia is proud to present to the market its kid-friendly vehicle back seat replacements and console to adult seat (for RAM 1500 TRX) replacements.
Kids seats four across
Vehicle Engineering Kid Seat’s four across kid seats have been created in response to market needs for those wishing to carry four children in their car while also having two adults in the front row.
The Australian Commonwealth Transport standard (VSB5) stipulates clearly the minimum width each seat must be and the shoulder height range of the children.
Additional requirements require lap/sash inertia seatbelts to be fitted to each seating position as well as individual child restraint anchor points.
Vehicle Engineering Kid Seat’s four across kids’ replacement back seat meet these parameters, and also features ‘anti-submarine’ straps to stop the child slipping forwards and out of the seat belt when the car comes to a sudden stop.
Two ISO Fix points are also provided to allow child capsules/baby seats requiring this functionality to be used.
“Our expert child-friendly vehicle backseat manufacturers specialise in modifying the backseat of your vehicle to make it safe and convenient for children and their car seats,” Vehicle Engineering Australia’s John Wilson said.
Console to adult seat replacement – for RAM 1500 TRX
Also available from Vehicle Engineering Australia is the front console adult seat replacement for the RAM 1500 TRX.
“The replacement of the console with an adult seat also comes in response to the market, allowing an additional adult or larger child to be seated in the front row while having the benefit of a lap/sash inertia seatbelt when the new console lid is flipped up,” John said.
“Some big 4WD US Utes already have a flip up centre console, but these are not fitted with a lap/sash inertia belt, and only with a lap seat belt. The RAM TRX does not have a flip up centre console.”
