SELBY AND MACKAY CONTROL ARMS

Available from ADRAD

More than 800 new control arm parts to suit Passenger, 4×4, and Light Commercial Vehicles have just been added to ADRAD’s suspension products range.
Control arms play a crucial role in a vehicle’s suspension system, governing wheel movement and ensuring a safe, smooth and stable ride.
They also provide the necessary support to maintain accurate wheel alignment which helps deliver long term savings through improved fuel consumption and reduced tyre wear.
The extra weight carried by many modern vehicles (especially SUVs, hybrids and full electric models) combined with more rigid, low-profile or run-flat tyres can significantly accelerate wear in suspension components.
There are also more complicated designs such as the hydraulic bushings used in some European makes that can be prone to failure due to leaking.
Even so, the driver may not realise just how worn their suspension is since the feel and performance will often decline gradually.
Regular checking and timely replacement of worn parts will help provide safer travel and avoid an uncomfortable driving experience.
ADRAD states that its control arms from well-known Australian brands Mackay Rubber and Selby Suspension are made to OE standards and sourced from quality manufacturers.
Built for durability with corrosion-resistant materials, ADRAD says these parts are designed as a direct-fit replacement to ensure an easy, hassle-free installation.
Removal and refurbishment of worn control arms consumes a workshop technician’s time and with the extra labour factored in, can result in a greater cost than simply replacing the whole assembly with a quality aftermarket part.
Other complications can also play a factor, such as ball joints that are permanently secured into place on the control arm – making them a non-serviceable component.
By fitting an entirely new control arm, ADRAD says workshops can save money, and customers will benefit from a nationwide, two-year warranty on the new part.
