SKILLED TECHNICIANS = BUSINESS SUCCESS

Looking for new staff or need to ensure your current staff are appropriately qualified? Box Hill Institute is ready to help

Box Hill Institute is a leading provider of automotive apprentice training in Victoria and offers automotive courses from Certificate II through to Diploma level.

Looking for new staff?
When looking for new staff, Box Hill Institute encourages you to consider taking on an apprentice.
“An apprentice can be a great asset to your business. They can inject a new life to your workshop and are keen to learn about the latest automotive technologies,” Box Hill Institute’s Automotive Manager, Michael Cope, said.
“They can be a cost-effective solution to increasing the productivity of your workshop and generous government financial incentives may be available.
“In employing an apprentice, you are helping feed the pipeline of skilled automotive technicians; an area that is facing a current skills shortage.
“Box Hill Institute has a number of ‘job ready’ people that have either just finished or are near finishing the Certificate II in Automotive Studies (pre-apprentice) course.
“These people have shown the drive and dedication required to complete the course and are keen to start their career in the automotive industry.”

Do you service and repair automotive air conditioning systems?
When it comes to working on automotive air conditioning systems, there are licencing requirements that must be observed.
ARCtick is the governing body that issues the Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL) that a person needs to hold in order to work on air conditioning systems that are fitted to the cabin of a motor vehicle.
There are a number of ways of obtaining this licence. You can study the full Certificate II in automotive air conditioning servicing (13 units); or if you are a qualified mechanic, you can use your existing qualification as credit towards completing this course – you may only need to complete three units through flexible delivery (conditions apply).
Box Hill Institute delivers the Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning throughout the year. Recognition of prior learning may also be available to prospective students. This course is also part of the government’s Free TAFE for Priority Courses initiative.
