SUPERIOR ENGINEERING SHOCKS AND STEERING DAMPERS
Purpose-built for Aussie conditions and heavy-duty use

Superior Engineering explains that its Shocks and Steering Dampers are manufactured to keep fleets, trades and weekend warriors on the road and off it with confidence.
If your vehicle spends time on corrugated cattle tracks, rock-strewn fire trails, or under heavy load, the suspension and steering components do the hard work; and Superior Engineering says factory dampers often lack the serviceability and valving range needed for modern loads and long days.
Superior Engineering explains that its shock and steering damper range is built around a nitrogen-charged monotube philosophy, CNC-machined bodies, and hard-chrome plated shafts to resist scoring and fade.
Multi-stage valving smooths big hits while controlling low-speed body motion, and adjustable compression allows workshops and owners to tune response without guesswork.
Superior Engineering says upgrading stops unnecessary downtime, as a correctly valved shock and a stout steering damper reduces driver fatigue, prevents premature tyre wear, and maintains control when the terrain gets unpredictable.
Further, it says better materials and serviceable designs mean repairs are quicker and cheaper than replacing worn, sealed units; making for measurable savings for fleets and peace of mind for owner-drivers.
Each damper body is CNC machined, and heat treated to maintain consistent internal clearances; while shafts are hard chrome plated and ground to tight tolerances to protect seals and extend life.
Seals are high-temperature nitrile compounds designed to resist oil swell and ozone attack, and the exterior finish uses chemical conversion coating followed by a durable topcoat for long-term corrosion resistance.
Valving components are calibrated and tested to simulate real-world loads so what you fit performs from day one.
“The benefits are clear. You get stronger, more reliable components that are built for heavy use,” Superior Engineering General Manager, Samuel Turnbull, said.
“Ride control is improved, making rough tracks smoother and steering more predictable.
“The dampers resist corrosion and wear, and many units are serviceable or adjustable, which means less money spent over time.
“Steering dampers, in particular, help reduce wobble, return-to-centre wander, and low-speed darting, making your 4WD feel more planted and confident on any terrain.
“Fitment and installation are straightforward, designed as direct-replacement units for common 4WDs and commercial platforms with OEM-matching threads and mounts.
“For anyone who spends time off-road or under heavy load, Superior Engineering shocks and steering dampers are a practical upgrade that makes a noticeable difference.
“Tougher, smoother, and more reliable, they allow you to focus on the drive, not the suspension.”
