4WD specialist to celebrate a milestone

Terrain Tamer is proudly celebrating 50 years of spare parts knowledge and expertise in 2019, and will be showcasing some of the newest and most innovative parts from its range at the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo.
Introducing its new parabolic leaf springs and Heavy Duty Bearing Kits at the Expo, Terrain Tamer will also be exhibiting parts from its suspension, brake, transmission and driveline, and clutch categories, among others.
Family owned since its beginning in 1969, Terrain Tamer started out supplying 4WD parts to the likes of Bill King, who took tourists through rough, uncharted terrain in the Australian outback, to destinations such as Uluru.
These environments meant many breakages and Bill required strong, reliable parts to ensure he could get his customers home, through the harsh, unforgiving environment. Terrain Tamer provided the solutions to his problems.
For five decades, Terrain Tamer has learnt from these pioneers – sometimes the hard way. While every vehicle has its strengths; they all have weaknesses that can stop them in their tracks without a care for location.
Terrain Tamer says it has learnt what works well and how it can strengthen a vehicle to ensure safe passage through our dangerous yet beautiful landscape.
It all began with Bedfords and Leylands and continued through LandCruisers and Patrols to where it is today with a quickly spreading market of 4WD Utilities that are themselves on their own pioneering journey.

Over the years, the knowledge Terrain Tamer has shared with its customers has manifested itself into a unique range of over 40,000 4WD parts.
Having spent 50 years building its parts interpreting expertise and knowledge base, Terrain Tamer says its name is synonymous with quality and innovation, with each part going through rigorous research and development to make sure it is at least equal to original equipment, often far exceeding the standard, before it can bear the brand’s stamp.
Today, Terrain Tamer boasts a product range of over 40,000 unique part numbers, essentially formed by parts that will keep you running – right through the gearbox, transfer case, CV joints, filters, suspension, bearing kits, brake, clutch and thousands of other parts that make up any Landcruiser, Hilux, Patrol, Triton, Navara or D-Max.
