ADRAD began distributing Mintex brake products in April 2022, with TMD’s Mintex brand. Now, it also offers the premium Textar range.

Features of Textar brake pads have been developed for two specific market segments.

Textar apad for Asian Makes
Released in 2024, Textar apad ceramic brake pads are specifically developed for Asian vehicle makes and engineered for silent, clean and comfortable braking.
Using advanced brake technology, apad brake pads employ a textured noise dampening shim applied on the backing plate.
ADRAD explains that this significantly reduces vibration and sound, providing quiet and comfortable braking performance.
Apad’s special copper and antimony free friction formulation is said to be less aggressive on the brake disc to produce far less dust, giving a much cleaner result.
Combined together, these features also help increase the lifespan of the vehicle’s brake discs and pads.
Textar apad suits Asian vehicle makes including Honda, Holden, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Proton, Renault, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota.

Textar epad+ for European Makes
Textar describes its epad+ ceramic brake pad as a design improvement over the previous epad, launched in 2011.
Leading to its release in 2023, epad+ has been refined over several years of development, with more than 11,000 hours of dyno time, over 3500 hours of road testing, and extensive field trials.
Epad+ helps keep wheel rims super clean thanks to its superior NAO (Non-Asbestos Organic) friction mix which provides a significant reduction in brake dust – even under hard braking.
This NAO formulation is environmentally friendly, containing no copper or antimony, and extends the life of both pads and discs.
Reduction in both vibration and high-frequency noise is achieved by the accompanying Q+ Dampening Shim which prevents direct contact between brake piston and the backing plate during braking.
At the same time, the shim’s unique textile composition is designed to offer outstanding dampening and decoupling properties, providing significantly enhanced braking comfort.
Textar epad+ suits European vehicle makes including Audi, BMW, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Mini, Porsche, Land Rover, Skoda, Volvo and Volkswagen.

Textar Brake Discs
ADRAD explains that Textar brake discs are manufactured in strict accordance with OE tolerances and have been intelligently designed for optimum braking.
A special casting process is said to deliver an extremely homogenous material surface which helps prevent “hard” or “soft” spots, so the pad meets the same resistance as it grips the disc, reducing vibration and uneven wear.
It also allows the disc to expand more evenly under thermal load, making it less likely to warp.
A heat channel on the Textar brake disc directs heat transfer to the disc ventilation chamber, improving heat dissipation and providing anti-vibration performance benefits.
Textar discs also feature an anti-corrosion coating that provides protection to non-friction surfaces throughout the life of the brake disc.
