The TRW Electric Blue brake pad is the world’s first aftermarket brake pad for electric and hybrid vehicles

TRW’s Electric Blue brake pad from ZF Aftermarket has won an Innovation Award in the “Parts, Equipment and Components (Replacement)” category at the international Equip Auto fair, which was held recently in Paris.
The Equip Auto International Grands Prix for Automotive Innovation aims to select and reward the most innovative concepts, products and services presented by Equip Auto exhibitors and shine a light on the emerging technology in the automotive aftermarket.
The TRW Electric Blue brake pad is reportedly the world’s first aftermarket brake pad for electric and hybrid vehicles.
ZF Aftermarket explains it has been NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) tested and is proven to create less noise and vibration, which is of particular benefit to electric vehicles, due to the lack of engine noise.
It says the product’s high level of innovation is coupled with demand-oriented service quality, with TRW Electric Blue brake pads supplied with the appropriate accessories to promote quick fitment.
According to ZF, the electrification of a vehicle’s driveline is an important lever for the company to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
The technology group offers hybrid modules, plug-in hybrid transmissions, and electric drives for electric vehicles, including power electronics and system integration.
ZF Aftermarket says that as a leading braking systems manufacturer in the global aftermarket, TRW delivers original equipment brake pads and discs to the world’s leading car companies, with the same exceptional quality applied to its aftermarket offerings – including Electric Blue.
