WHY BODY MOUNTS MATTER MORE THAN MANY REALISE

In Australia’s hard-working 4WD and SUV market, body mounts are one of those components that often go unnoticed, until they fail

Yet for workshops servicing ageing utility vehicles, touring 4WDs and high-kilometre SUVs, worn body mounts can have a major impact on ride quality, cabin noise and even vehicle alignment.
Body mounts are designed to connect the vehicle body to the chassis while isolating occupants from vibration, harshness and road shock.
Typically positioned at 10 to 12 mounting points between the body and frame, they use rubber bushings combined with steel components to cushion movement and reduce noise transfer through the vehicle.
Over time, however, constant load, off-road use, towing and exposure to heat, oil and environmental conditions can cause the rubber to compress, crack or deteriorate.
The result can be excessive cabin vibration, body movement, rattles, squeaks, misaligned panels and, in severe cases, driveline or steering geometry issues.
For workshops, body mount replacement can deliver a dramatic improvement in vehicle feel – particularly on older 4WDs that customers may simply assume have become “rough with age.”
Recognising growing demand in this category, Transgold has expanded its range of body mount kits to support many of Australia’s most popular SUV and 4WD applications.
The range now includes more than 200 part numbers covering major brands including Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Holden.
Importantly for repairers, Transgold supplies body mounts in complete kits tailored to specific vehicle models, helping streamline parts ordering and installation.
The company says quality and durability have been key priorities in the range development.
Manufactured using steel and high-grade rubber compounds, the mounts are designed to maximise vibration and noise reduction while maintaining long-term flexibility and structural integrity.
As direct OEM replacements, the mounts are engineered for straightforward fitment and to preserve original vehicle ride characteristics, which Transgold says is a critical factor for workshops wanting reliable, trouble-free installations.
Further, Transgold says all manufacturing partners are audited for quality materials and production reliability, with suppliers certified to ISO:9001 or TS:16949 standards. The range is also backed by a 12 month/20,000km warranty.
