4WDIC FLYING THE FLAG
From Autocare to the 4×4 show to plenty of events coming up, the 4WD Industry Council is keeping busy working for our industry

June 20-21 sees the Autocare Convention returning to Brisbane for two days of technical and workshop management training, alongside a free trade show incorporating 120 exhibitors, competitions and product demonstrations.
Whilst Autocare delivers world-class training to mechanical technicians, AAAA will be hosting concurrently the second edition of the National Light Vehicle Modification Summit, or the Mods Summit as it has been affectionately dubbed – something the 4WD Industry Council is very excited about.
“The Mods Summit is the only event which brings together state and federal regulators, vehicle certifiers, engineers and product development teams, and vehicle modifiers in the one room – and this year’s event is not to be missed!” 4WD Industry Council Convenor, Nigel Bishop, said.
The 4WDIC has also been busy at recent events.
“Once again, our networking breakfast in Brisbane marked the opening of the National 4×4 and Outdoors Show in March,” Nigel said.
“The lead-up to this year’s event was nervously overshadowed by the threat of Cyclone Alfred, which although it hit hard, thankfully spared most of Brisbane the brunt of its force, and so the show and the networking breakfast both pressed on as planned.
“We were buoyed to see a full room yet again, especially with many members still dealing with the post-storm cleanup and some still without power.
“As much as these events are a great way for us to share insights and industry updates, it is the networking with industry peers that makes these events invaluable and such a pleasure to host.
“I wish to send a special thanks to Tuff Group Australia for sponsoring this year’s breakfast.”
There are plenty of events coming up as well.
“Following the Mods Summit, next up in the events calendar will be our networking breakfast in Melbourne August 22, followed by our evening function in Sydney September 12, and rounding out the year with breakfast in Adelaide October 24,” Nigel said.
“Keep an eye out for invitations in your member e-news as we get closer to the dates. Oh, and if you’re not yet a 4WD Industry Council member, I’d strongly encourage you to join – reach out to us any time at membership@aaaa.com.au.”
