Valvoline’s Restore & Protect Engine Oil was recognised as an Innovation Leader at the AAAExpo

At the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo (AAAExpo) Australian Auto Aftermarket Innovation Awards Breakfast, Valvoline’s Restore & Protect Engine Oil was awarded as the Most Innovative New Aftermarket Product in the Performance category.
Valvoline says its Restore & Protect is “the first and only engine oil that prevents future deposit formation and restores pistons to factory clean by removing up to 99 percent of engine-killing deposits with continuous use,# resetting expectations on what an engine oil can do.
Valvoline states that other synthetics that claim to clean engines simply capture carbon from the combustion process, but Restore & Protect does even more.
As soon as an engine is cranked for the first time, critical parts of the engine start building up deposits, accelerating aging and reducing its life.

Why is removing engine deposits important?
Piston and piston ring function are vital for maximum performance. Pistons and piston rings must move freely within tight tolerances and with exacting balance.
Piston rings are designed to float (expand and contract) based on the piston stroke. Proper piston ring function maximises power by forming the right seal during combustion; protection by optimising the oil layer on cylinder walls; and cooling by removing hot oil from pistons and cylinders.
Engine oil prefers clean metal surfaces for the optimal protective oil film to support engine compression and protection.
Fuel, condensation (water), and combustion byproducts create contaminants and break down engine oil.
Deposits and varnish inhibit the formation of the oil film on the metal surface and can prevent anti-wear additives, detergents, and friction modifiers from forming an effective protect layer.
Deposits and varnish also insulate metal surfaces and do not allow heat to be removed effectively, leading to higher engine operating temperatures (which can lead to even more deposits).
With Restore & Protect, when used as directed, it actively restores pistons, decreasing the likelihood of the negative implications fuel, water and combustion by-products create.

The results are clear
Valvoline explains that its Restore & Protect has been tested in the Valvoline Engine Lab against the toughest conditions.
It states all the data showed fewer deposits, less varnish “and results no other engine oil could produce.”
Further, it says Restore & Protect provides 79 percent greater wear protection versus industry standards*.
