AUSTRALIAN ULTIMATE SUSPENSION’S SIX-STAGE KIA TASMAN RANGE

The range offers purpose-built suspension packages tailored to different use applications

Australian Ultimate Suspension has introduced a dedicated suspension development program for the Kia Tasman, with six purpose-built packages designed to suit different vehicle weights, accessories, loads, towing requirements, and driving applications.
The company says it was first to market with Kia Tasman suspension kits, with packages available from 2025.
Rather than relying on a single general-purpose suspension solution, Australian Ultimate Suspension purchased dedicated Kia Tasman vehicles for research, measurement, component development, and real-world fitment testing.
The company explains its development process considered total vehicle weight, front and rear axle loads, ride height, suspension travel, wheel and tyre clearance, towing behaviour, and the effect of fitted accessories – such as bull bars, winches, trays, canopies, drawers, tools, roof racks, underbody protection, and touring equipment.
The objective of this process was to match spring rates and shock absorber damping forces to the way each Tasman will actually be used.
The range begins with the Stage 1 Shock Replacement Pack for daily driving and light-load applications.
Stage 2 provides a light-load and towing option, while Stage 3 is intended for regular towing and moderate load carrying.
Stage 4 supports heavier permanent loads, caravans and trailers. Stage 5 incorporates airbag load assistance for changing payloads, and Stage 6 provides a full suspension replacement package for vehicles carrying constant rear weight.
At the centre of the range are Australian Ultimate Suspension’s The Ultimate Smart Shocks, offering adjustable ride control and, on selected packages, adjustable ride height.
Additional load-support options include heavy-duty leaf springs, coil-assist systems, and airbags.
By selecting the package around the Tasman’s actual operating weight and intended purpose, the program aims to provide greater bump-stop clearance, better ride control, improved stability, increased comfort, and greater confidence when towing or carrying load.
Australian Ultimate Suspension recommends that owners have their vehicle assessed before selecting a package, particularly where accessories, permanent weight, or towing equipment have already been fitted.
