A BUSY FIRST HALF OF 2025
As EOFY approaches, Capricorn Group CEO Brad Gannon reflects on the activities of recent months

One of the best parts of working at Capricorn is spending time with our Members and Preferred Suppliers – hearing how Capricorn has helped them grow their businesses and how we might be able to provide support for the challenges they are facing.
It was fantastic to get across to New Zealand earlier this year and meet some of our Members there. It was also a good reminder that so many of the issues independent workshops face are universal and industrywide all across Australia and New Zealand.
So many of the stories we heard from Members in Auckland, we’ve also heard from Members across Australia. Namely, the skills and labour shortages are really impacting business.
We hear you. Capricorn will have more to say on tackling the skills shortage in the coming months.
In May, I got to spend time with Members at the Board Information Sessions we held with our Chair, Mark Rowe. It was great to meet some Members who are excited about the future of Capricorn and who are interested in playing a role in our cooperative’s future. After all, we are only 50 years young.
Last month Capricorn was thrilled to announce our first Australian Ecommerce partner – JB Hi-Fi Business.
This partnership will allow Australian Capricorn Members to use their Trade Account for online purchases with JB Hi-Fi making it easier for them to shop online, while keeping all the benefits that Members know and love.
We will continue to add more Ecommerce partners and this is just the start of this journey together.
Finally, as the end of the financial year is almost upon us, now is a good time to look at your finances and plan for the year ahead. Don’t forget to investigate whether you’re eligible for the instant asset write-off.
