ACL Bearing Company (Australia) Pty Ltd continues to support the Tasmanian Motorsport community with its latest partnerships.
The company is well known throughout Australia for its rich pedigree in Motorsport and support of racing categories from the grassroots level all the way through to Supercars.
ACL General Manager Chris Brooks has now advised that the company has extended its support of Hyundai Excel Racing Tasmania and also of Harrison Sellars in the National Formula Ford Series.
“It is always our aim to support local Motorsport and local community activities – local Motorsport is the proving ground for the stars of the future,” Chris said.
“We are proudly Tasmanian and acknowledge Tasmania’s rich Motorsport heritage.
“Over the years Tasmania has been well represented on the national and international stage.
“In 2024 – which marks the 75th anniversary of the company in Launceston, Tasmania – we are very pleased to continue the support and development of Tasmanians in Motorsport.
“We believe that there are many prominent prospects within the state, and that they are well placed to take the next step.”
ACL has been the naming rights sponsor of Hyundai Excel Racing Tasmania since its maiden season in 2022.
“The Hyundai Excels are an exciting development category with fantastic competitive and close racing at every event and we are pleased to extend our partnership for Season 2024,” Chris said.
“The support and comradery between competitors of all ages is great to see, as has the enthralling title race with several competitors in the hunt after round three of the six round series.
“It is expected that the title race will go down to the final race of the season.
“The series in Tasmania is also proving to be a launching pad for local talent, with several drivers progressing to the national ranks in Toyota 86 and Transam national categories.
“Several Tasmanian drivers have also competed with distinction at the national CERA Dunlop Destiny Series at Bathurst over Easter.
“We are certainly very pleased with the professionalism shown by Hyundai Excel Racing Tasmania and the support of the continual development and improvement of the category and the drivers.
“It is very instrumental in the pathway development for its drivers and we are very excited for the future prospects of the 2024 grid.”
2024 will also be ACL Bearing Company’s second year of partnering with local Launceston talent, Harrison Sellars, who competes in the National Formula Ford Series.
“Harrison started his racing career in karting, the precursor category for all budding racers, with great success at national and state level before transitioning into Formula Ford in 2023,” Chris said.
“In his rookie season he competed in both the Victorian and National formula Ford Championships, recording strong performances across both championships.
“Harrison has had a very promising start to the 2024 season at Round One at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, winning the opening race and sitting fourth in the Championship.
“We are very excited with Harrison’s development and as a proud, longstanding Tasmanian company, we are pleased to be playing a small role in Harrison’s assault on the 2024 Australian Formula Ford Championship.
“The 2024 Championship is expected to be very tight and consists of six rounds across Australia and we cannot wait to cheer on Harrison at our local track when the Formula Fords feature on the Supercars program in August at Symmons Plains.”
