Precision parts, balancing and calibration is critical, says Cateran

More boost is not automatically better
Cateran explains a quality turbocharger should closely match the original turbocharger’s airflow, boost response, compressor and turbine characteristics, and actuator calibration.

According to Cateran, many aftermarket turbochargers suffer from loose VNT/VGT tolerances, excessive machining clearances, substandard materials, inaccurate calibration, and poor high-speed balancing.
