NEW BAPCOR DISTRIBUTION CENTRE CONSTRUCTED

The state of the art facility is located in the Brisbane suburb of Redbank

BAPCOR, a market leading automotive aftermarket specialised company in Australasia, has announced the construction of the company’s second centralised distribution centre.
The impressive 41,580 square metre BAPCOR Distribution Centre, which equates to four Suncorp Stadiums under one roof, is located in the Brisbane suburb of Redbank.
When operational, this outstanding new Bapcor Distribution Centre will consolidate seven existing Brisbane based warehouses into the one state of the art, purpose designed facility. This will strengthen supply chain capabilities across the company’s parts receiving and sending eco-system.
This new BAPCOR Distribution Centre is an extension of the Australian company’s broader strategy to build the industry’s best in class supply chain and to expand its centralised distribution network model.
The new Queensland facility follows the design and construction of the company’s first purpose-built distribution centre in Victoria that was completed in 2021.
The new Queensland facility will also feature a world-class automated order (Goods to Person) fulfillment solution that combines automated storage and retrieval with an accurate and integrated pick to light order fulfillment system.
The new BAPCOR Distribution Centre will also benefit from the latest warehouse management system where every product is measured, weighed and barcode recorded to ensure operational efficiency across the entire supply chain network.
BAPCOR says its commitment to building a modern and long term sustainable facility includes a number of special additions.
These include a 1.8-megawatt solar panel system that generates the equivalent amount of power to light up 500 residential properties annually.
There are also six charging units to charge up to twelve electric vehicles located in the staff car park.
The new BAPCOR Distribution Centre also features rainwater harvesting storage capabilities that aim to reduce water usage, while directing water for landscape irrigation and other amenity uses.
Team Member exercise and enjoyment have not escaped the new BAPCOR Distribution Centre design with a full-sized outdoor basketball court also included.
“We must continue to optimise our supply chain eco-system and leverage the scale of our business to create a great customer experience,” BAPCOR Executive General Manager Supply Chain, Abdul Jaafar, said.
“We have a vision for one way of working across the supply chain that will ensure we are driving continuous improvement in an ever changing world, where our customers demand of multi-channel fulfilment is at the heart of how we deliver our products.
“All the while we are continuing to focus on having the right stock, in the right location at the right time.”
