PENRITE RACING SECURES RISING STAR

Matthew Payne has been locked in with the team in a long-term partnership

Following a season of achievements and standout performances, Penrite Racing has been thrilled to announce the re-signing of rising star, Matthew Payne.
The decision to extend Matthew’s contract comes off the back of an exceptional debut season in 2023, during which he claimed his inaugural Supercars Championship victory in the final race at the VAILO Adelaide 500.
The decision to re-sign Matthew is a testament to Penrite Racing’s commitment to nurturing and supporting emerging talent.
The team says it recognises the potential and promise that Matthew brings to the team, making this partnership a strategic move towards sustained success and growth.
“It was important for the team to extend Matthew’s contract to ensure the entire Racing group can continue to develop the team for the long term,” Grove Racing Owner, Stephen Grove, said.
“Matthew is a vital part of our long-term strategy, and his commitment to the team through a long-term extension to his current contract, is a testament to the direction of the whole Racing group at Grove Racing.”
“Matt started his career with us as part of our junior team and he is the first driver to graduate up to Supercars,” Penrite Racing Team Principal, David Cauchi, said.
“It is a testament to Stephen and Brenton Grove for their commitment to developing young talent and to continue our relationship with Matt is very satisfying.
“Our first year in Supercars produced a race win which is a rare achievement in such a competitive championship. Matt has shown that he deserves to be in Supercars, and he will be a key part of our team into the future.”
“After securing my first race win, I am excited to re-sign with Penrite Racing,” Penrite Racing Driver, Matthew Payne, said.
“The upcoming season holds new challenges, fresh competition, and the opportunity to improve my performance on the track. I am confident with the support of Penrite Racing, we can further our success in 2024.”
The announcement sets the stage for an exciting future as the team eagerly anticipates the upcoming 2024 season.
Penrite Racing says that in partnership with Matthew Payne and the recent addition of Richie Stanaway, it will set the standard for V8 supercars in 2024, making a significant impact together.
