NEW TOTAL PACKAGING

HDPE cans are now offered for the Quartz Xtra range

A year after the launch of the Quartz Xtra range, developed to meet the needs of the latest generation of engines (hybrids, downsized) and providing significant fuel savings (up to four precent¹), TotalEnergies Lubrifiants says it is taking another step forward.
The company is stepping up its efforts to promote the circular economy and is taking it a step further by offering HDPE (high density polyethylene) cans for the Quartz Xtra range, which are made from 50 percent recycled plastics² and are 100 percent recyclable.
The recycled resins come from a processing unit where the waste materials are crushed, separated and transformed into reusable granules. The recycled material represents 50 percent of the new packaging.
The Quartz Xtra HDPE cans are fully recyclable many times. The waste is recycled into secondary raw materials without changing the basic structure of the material.
Quartz Xtra lubricants manufactured in Europe now benefit from this new packaging for the one and five litre sizes.
This innovation boosts the use of recycled plastics in TotalEnergies’ packaging and contributes to the Company’s ambition to offer increasingly affordable, clean, reliable energy that is accessible to as many people as possible.
“We are committed to offering our partners and customers solutions that promote a circular economy. This project demonstrates our technical expertise and our ability to innovate, putting our products at the service of mobility that is both efficient and sustainable,” TotalEnergies Lubrifiants Automotive Director, Jean Parizot, said.
